Vitamin E: Beneficial for our skin

Vitamin E: Beneficial for our skin

24/05/2021

Vitamin E plays an essential role in our health and beauty. Because it is not produced in sufficient quantities by our body, it is important to consume it orally and by skin application. What are its benefits, and why is its contribution essential?

Vitamin E: Beneficial for our skin

WHAT IS VITAMIN E?

Also known as tocopherol, vitamin E is a so-called fat-soluble vitamin. Unlike water-soluble vitamins, it is soluble in fat, so the body can absorb it and keep it in reserve. There are eight forms of vitamin E (4 tocopherols and 4 tocotrienols), the most widely used being alpha-tocopherol, the version richest in antioxidants.

Like all vitamins, vitamin E is an organic substance without energy value that the body basically needs for its growth and functioning. Since the body cannot produce enough of it, it will have to be supplied through food or even food supplements, as it is vital and important for our well-being.

Antioxidant, it protects our cells from oxidation, responsible for the premature ageing of our cells. It thus helps to fight against the effects of time, protects the body from the risks of cancer and cardiovascular disease, and plays the role of anti-inflammatory.

THE BENEFITS OF VITAMIN E FOR THE SKIN

VITAMIN E FOR SOFT AND SUPPLE SKIN

smooth skin

Vitamin E is a real beauty asset thanks to its antioxidant effect. Protected from skin ageing, the epidermis maintains a smooth and supple appearance for longer. This vitamin acts as a natural nutrient and helps maintain an excellent level of hydration while protecting the skin from external aggressions such as pollution. It is found in many face and body care creams, but it is also advisable to consume it regularly by mouth.

VITAMIN E TO FIGHT AGAINST SKIN AGEING

Vitamin E helps to fight against the appearance of wrinkles thanks to its action against skin ageing. Antioxidant, it protects the skin from irreversible damage caused by the presence of free radicals. It also stimulates the production of collagen, a structural protein present in large quantities in the body and giving the tissues mechanical resistance to stretching. It is also this collagen that is responsible for the pulpy and plumped appearance of the skin. Vitamin E-enriched masks are ideal for preventing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles. Apply once a week to clean, dry skin and rinse well with clear water.

VITAMIN E TO RELIEVE AND REPAIR DAMAGED SKIN

Vitamin E helps weakened skin to heal: acne, sunburn... its healing power and ability to regenerate the skin literally allows it to repair damaged skin. It also calms dermatitis, or atopic eczema, a chronic inflammatory skin disease, by soothing redness and itching. The healing process is optimal.

To prevent, do not hesitate to regularly consume vitamin E, by eating foods rich in it, or through food supplements. It is also sold in capsule form, ready to be mixed with your usual moisturizing creams, for local application.

THE HEALTH BENEFITS OF VITAMIN E

VITAMIN E IS ANTIOXIDANT

benefits of vitamin e

The antioxidant power of vitamin E not only helps the skin to effectively combat the effects of time, but also helps to protect the cells from free radicals, which gradually destroy our cells. Free radicals are very unstable chemical molecules and are potentially dangerous to our health. Indeed, free radicals accelerate the natural ageing process, alter cell membranes and thus damage DNA. As a result, we observe multiple lesions due to the oxidation of the cells, which leads to degenerative diseases. Consuming vitamin E helps to fight oxidative stress and excess free radicals to maintain the health of our cells at their best.

VITAMIN E HELPS PREVENT CARDIOVASCULAR AND NEURODEGENERATIVE DISEASES

Its anti-inflammatory effect effectively limits the process of atherosclerosis, a disease affecting the arteries and responsible for the risk of cardiovascular accidents. Because it fights against oxidative stress, and therefore against the premature wear and tear of our cells, it helps to combat any risk of degenerative diseases (such as osteoarthritis, cataracts, Alzheimer's disease, etc.) Consuming vitamin E regularly does not eradicate these diseases, but it does reduce the risk of being affected by them.

At Akane, we have developed Pomme & la Feuille®, a unique active ingredient combining all the benefits of Akane apple and muscat rose oil. This explosive cocktail acts very effectively on skin aging and is seven times more powerful than pure vitamin E!

We harvest the Akane apple in the New Aquitaine region of Corrèze. This fruit is particularly rich in polyphenols, a family of organic molecules with proven antioxidant properties. To elaborate our active ingredient, we use its flesh, skin and leaves, which we add to rose hip oil, particularly concentrated in omega 3 and omega 6, essential fatty acids that are essential for maintaining the elasticity and suppleness of the skin. As the body does not produce any of these substances, it is essential to provide it with them, in particular by applying cosmetic products containing them.

From the combination of these two miracle products was born La Pomme & la Feuille® Akane, a unique oleo-association that we add to each of our products in order to strengthen the cutaneous barrier against external aggressions and preserve the beauty of your skin, day after day!
